Apps Provide Easy Access to Auditory Training

Hearing exercises on apps allow you to conduct auditory training at home. Like aural rehabilitation, auditory training is intended to help your brain learn to identify and localize sounds. That’s especially important if you have hearing loss.

How Hearing Exercise Apps Help

Auditory training is typically used with people who are new to cochlear implants because their brains must learn to process sound differently. But some research suggests people with mild hearing loss could also benefit from hearing exercises.

Cognitive impairment or decline affects your brain’s ability to process sound properly. Listening exercises target your working memory and can improve how fast you process what you hear. And because several hearing programs are available as apps for iOS and Android devices, you can access training with the touch of a button.
