Community Involvement
Bringing Hearing Care To Those In Need in The Dominican Republic
Improving lives through better hearing is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to seeking opportunities to provide high-quality hearing care to individuals and communities who need it most.
Since 2005, Dr. Pat Biondi has traveled annually to the Dominican Republic to help distribute hearing aids and provide essential hearing services to those who may not otherwise have access to care. This effort has been made possible through the ongoing support of his friend Jorge Espinal, as well as the involvement of local churches and Rotary Clubs.
Every Pair Donated is a Life Changed
It’s a reward to be able to reconnect with the people we have given back to, like Lionel, or Stephani who received her first hearing aids from Pat ten years ago when she was a toddler. Seeing Stephani now, confident and engaged with the world around her, is a reminder that the impact of hearing care extends far beyond the moment of fitting. In Lionel’s video, he shares how being able to hear again has changed his daily life and interactions with others. Stories like theirs are why these trips matter—because access to hearing care doesn’t just restore sound, it restores connection, independence, and opportunity for the people who receive it.
The People Behind the Mission
Dr. Biondi would also like to extend his sincere gratitude to the fellow audiologists from the United States who have generously volunteered hearing aids along with their time and expertise to participate in this important mission.
